[sims] Creation of new pastoral structure in SIMS

Our pastoral manager is looking to create the pastoral structure for next year. However, documentation from our SIMS support unit states that all users need to be logged out for the duration of the process.

 

Does anyone know if this is really necessary?

You don't need staff logged out when you are looking at next years pastoral structure. It is however good practise to have everyone logged out when the next academic year is set up as it is a high drain activity which can slow SIMS right down and cause issues with timeouts for the other staff when saving during this time.
