Totally depends on what you're filling it with, and if you're using a UPS. Work out the power requirements in amps, then add in some headroom, then you can look at what distribution system would work best.

 

But in that rack any 19" system will fit fine.

Probably a daft question but how do vertical PDU's mount in a cabinet? The cabinet is Excel ER 42U and this is the PDU I am looking at. Can't work out whether I need additional brackets?

Unless you have a specific rack with built-in slots, normally you use an adapter/mount, but again can depend on brand

For the cheaper ones, they normally just bolt straight into the back holes/squares of the rack, I wonder if that CPC picture is the horizontal one as the vertical normally have the holes at the back like this one: https://cpc.farnell.com/lms-data/pdu-10ws-v/10-way-vertical-13a-switched-pdu/dp/EN85625 at least on the ones I've seen

Definately vertical. I've looked up the part code on other sites and it's the same image.

 

Where do you find the brackets / adapters? I've tried the Excel networking website but no joy...
