outlook calendar sharing issues

I've created a new outlook calendar, but when I attempt to share it via 'share calendar' then pick the calendar, then 'unit properties' and I add the person (gave permission to edit, but also just tried sharing it), the I've hit apply, and I've hit ok. Both times it has sent the invite to the person, but when they hit 'accept', it gives them the following message: 'There is a problem connecting you with the shared calendar. Please ask the person inviting you to send another sharing invitation'.

What can we do to fix this?

Isnt ms having issues with sharing calendars this might be part of the issue.
