Pixmax Vinyl Cutter - Printing Direct from Techsoft 2D Design V3

Morning all,

 

Our DT dept has a Pixmax PME720 vinyl cutter which is currently installed on a dedicated laptop with SignCut pro installed.

The way it installs it basically installs a virtual port which becomes com 3 which you then tell Signcut pro what port the cutter is installed on and it works its magic with no problems.

 

One of the teachers wants to print to it directly from Techsoft 2d Design (by just selecting it as a printer) which he informs me he's been able to do in a previous school with the exact same model of cutter.

I briefly tried manually setting it up as a printer in windows and assigning it to com port 3 but couldn't find the appropriate printer driver to use.

Before I start trawling the internet and looking at other ways of doing it, has anyone achieved this?

Also interested in achieving this again - our PIXMAX 721PE was working through 2DDesign until a recent change of PC.
