ToastyHost Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I seem to be having a lot of issues installing this script. I can't seem to find installation documentation other than the standard Joomla 1.5 guide. Also I don't know whether or not to install the sample data. If you could point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.
rush_tech Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Hi I take it your tring to install the Latest Package 1.5.3? When you extract the package there is a PDF document which explains how to install:) The sample data does not need installing although it does give you a warning about it, ignore:D
ToastyHost Posted June 12, 2008 Author Posted June 12, 2008 yep 1.5.3. do you mean the joomla 1.5.pdf?
ToastyHost Posted June 17, 2008 Author Posted June 17, 2008 After step 8 i'm getting the following error: Notice: Undefined index: DBtype in /home/piccolos/public_html/alpha1/installation/installer/models/model.php on line 770 Fatal error: Call to undefined method JException::getNullDate() in /home/piccolos/public_html/alpha1/installation/installer/helper.php on line 290 everything seems normal up to there.
ToastyHost Posted June 17, 2008 Author Posted June 17, 2008 when you say the configuration file, where exactly is that? on the checklist it mentioned changing the configuration file to 777 permissions, so i turned configuration.php-dist into configuration.php and changed it's permissions. Is that right?

Is that right? The installer should create a configuration.php for you, if it does'nt create a blank one yourself in the root of your site, and change the persmission on that one. Then add the php script it gives you at the end of the install. Don't touch the configuration.php-dist.
ToastyHost Posted June 17, 2008 Author Posted June 17, 2008 thanks for the help, the installation was a success, sort of. i'm now getting these: Warning: fopen(/home/piccolos/public_html/alpha1/modules/mod_jsn_imageshow_pro/jsn_imageshow_pro/xmldata74.xml) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/piccolos/public_html/alpha1/modules/mod_jsn_imageshow_pro/mod_jsn_imageshow_pro.php on line 143 Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/piccolos/public_html/alpha1/modules/mod_jsn_imageshow_pro/mod_jsn_imageshow_pro.php on line 144 Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/piccolos/public_html/alpha1/modules/mod_jsn_imageshow_pro/mod_jsn_imageshow_pro.php on line 145 -AND- Notice: Undefined variable: user1 in /home/piccolos/public_html/alpha1/templates/eg_default1.5/index.php on line 71
rush_tech Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 the first three are permissions on the imageshow module folder
ToastyHost Posted June 17, 2008 Author Posted June 17, 2008 i've made all the mentioned files writable, to no avail. would it be a php.ini issue?
ToastyHost Posted June 17, 2008 Author Posted June 17, 2008 hang on no, it's fixed, forgot to change the permissions on xmldata74.xml now i just have these: Notice: Undefined variable: user1 in /home/piccolos/public_html/alpha1/templates/eg_default1.5/index.php on line 71 Notice: Undefined variable: user7 in /home/piccolos/public_html/alpha1/templates/eg_default1.5/index.php on line 87 Notice: Undefined variable: user8 in /home/piccolos/public_html/alpha1/templates/eg_default1.5/index.php on line 95
ToastyHost Posted June 18, 2008 Author Posted June 18, 2008 where would that be located in the php.ini file? i've tried entering in error_reporting = E_STRICT to it but it hasn't helped.
