neonetman Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 Good afternoon, I've had the following email from our deputy head about GCSE options. Can any of you shed any light on what he is referring to? Ive been researching the GCSE options process in other schools and came across something called 'clash matrix' ive never heard of it. Basically, it allows students to choose 4 subjects at random and the software creates the classes to best fit the majority. At the moment we create blocks for students to choose subjects from, each block is the class=, so we restrict students at the first step to avoid any clashes. Have you heard of clash matrix?
TechMonkey Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 From what I remember a clash matrix is just a technique, not a specific piece of software. It would be part of a wider program, so TimeTabler has this option and this PDF from their timetabling book explains it a bit.
