Microsoft SharePoint Workspace... Dead?

Hi folks,

 

One of the contractors here has been using Microsoft SharePoint Workspace since Office 2010. His business partner hosts documents in it which they have both been editing. The business partner can edit the docs, but this contractor can no longer sync with them.

 

Has the service been pulled? I can't spot anything obvious online, although it's part of 2010 and I can see both that and the app have been discontinued. My guess is that they just need to move to 365, but just wanted to confirm for sure.
