Good morning!

I am trying to install and set up the classroom bookings system.

I have created the database and user, uploaded and extracted the files and changed the file permissions on local and uploads.

I then run the installer and enter the database connection details but it continually returns to the "Install classroombookings - Configuration" window with blank details - attached is the log file.

I have looked at other posts and tried various ideas but still having the same issue. Any thoughts/help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi, author of classroombookings here!

I'm not sure why that's happening, and there doesn't seem to be anything in the log file unfortunately.

It looks like you have all the logging already turned on, so the next step is displaying errors on the page as they happen.

Create a plain text file simply called .env in the main classroombookings folder (same place as index.php). The contents of this file should just be the word development.

This will tell classroombookings to display errors when they happen - so try running the install process again and see what it says.

Hi,

Thanks for the information - have tried this but am not getting any additional information.

However, I think that the request is being blocked as have found the following error

Mixed Content: The page at '' was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure stylesheet ''. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

Do I need to change something within the classroom bookings software/setup or somewhere else?

Appreciate any help that you can give.

Hi!

OK, that sounds likely. I think it could be that the installation page hasn't being able to detect that you're running HTTPS.

You can force this by creating the file local/config.php file and setting the 'base_url' value:

defined('BASEPATH') OR exit('No direct script access allowed');

return array(

'config' => array(
	'base_url' => 'https://example.com/classroombookings/',
	'log_threshold' => 1,
	'index_page' => 'index.php',
	'uri_protocol' => 'REQUEST_URI',
),

'database' => array(
	'dsn' => '',
	'hostname' => '127.0.0.1',
	'username' => 'db_user',
	'password' => 'db_pass',
	'database' => 'db_name',
	'dbdriver' => 'pdo',
	'subdriver' => 'mysql',
),

);

You will need to add your database details in here as well.

Hi!

I am setting up the classroombookings system on CentOS Linux 8, PHP 7.2.24 and MariaDB 10.3.28 .

When I run the installer and enters the database connection details and click on next it returns to the "Install classroombookings - Configuration" window with blank fields.As suggested I have created .env file after which following error is displayed.

Thanks.

Hi @jazzzz20

It looks like it's a permission issue. Please check that reservation/local and subfolders - especially sessions - is writeable by the web server user.

Thanks @webman

Already have set permissions using following commands as mentioned in documentation:

chmod -R 775 local

chmod -R 775 uploads

I can't help with the booking system, but I would highly recommend switching to another linux distribution as CentOS Linux 8 is no longer supported after 31/12/21: https://wiki.centos.org/About/Product

Most people seem to be switching to Rocky Linux or AlmaLinux which are RHEL rebuilds (there's an oracle rebuild too but I wouldn't even go there!).
