Zoom + Deep Freeze

Looking for some input on how to handle deploying Zoom to academic areas where Deep Freeze is utilized. Currently we have some discussions centered on possibly installing Zoom on machines that are protected by Deep Freeze. The way Zoom auto updates work doesn't work with this type of arrangement. We are thinking of just creating a desktop shortcut to the Zoom website and instructing everyone to login and use that but I would love to hear how others are approaching this. Thanks!

I think that Zoom, like Teams, will need regular updates. However it won't necessarily need to be updated every single release, so perhaps you could update it once a month or something? Alternatively, as you say, maybe a link to the website to use the web client will be fine, at least for people who are just attending meetings.

When my school was looking at Deep Freeze as a solution there was a state called "Thawed", Can you not put the Zoom Application into Thawed state so it receives the updates and then carries on with the refresh each time the computer Restarts?
