Adobe CC Educational Licensing

Hi All,

 

So we're running Adobe CS4 site wide at the moment, which we bought outright years ago. Technically it isn't Windows 10 compatible, but it works.

 

We're rolling out the latest Windows 10 20H2 build soon, and although it works again on this build I'd like to investigate updating it, as we often have compatibility issues when users have newer versions at home.

 

I've not touched Adobe licensing for years but I've heard of some eyewatering prices.

 

What is the cheapest way to license this in education? The reality is we probably only have 200 users max who will actually use this, but if it's cheaper to license site wide then so be it.

Adobe gives you two options:

1. Named user (ie each user that needs it is licensed)

or

2. Classroom License (ie you license particular machines)

 

First one has a 500 user minimum at £4.21 per license per year (so £2,105 min)

or

Second one has a 25 seat minimum at £21.12 per license per year (so £528 a year)

 

Obviously, the more users or seats, the lower the per license per year goes.

 

So it depends if you have dedicated number of machines that would be the only machines with Adobe CC on - or you want to license the users which would allow them to also install it at home too.

Hi, where are you seeing the shared device pricing? I'm just looking at this and for Schools/Universities I can only see £278.04 per year, per device. Our CS5.5 site licence is on all machines, 300+ so that'd be over £80,000 a year.... which seems insane!

 

 

I can see CS5.5 remaining in our future....

Contact your reselller. We also have the k-12 shared device license which is min 25 licenses around £22 each

To be honest, we're trying to encourage use of photopea.com or pixlr.com for photo editing, and we're investigating wevideo.com for video editing.

 

Again, its the skills we need to teach, not necessarily the tools
