Teams Breakout rooms

Does anyone know whether it's possible to have a second person (other than the organiser) drop in and out of Teams breakout rooms?

I think if the privacy is set to "standard" then everyone can drop in and out of it and there will be the option to join the breakout room if they leave.

People can drop in and out of the room to which they have been assigned, but only the organiser can move between rooms. We want the organiser to give a second teacher the ability to move between rooms.

I have not tried this at all, and if you have it would be good to know for my knowledge

 

Maybe giving the second person presenter access? Or do they already have it?

I don't believe presenter access does it. Everyone who enters a breakout rooms given presenter access.

I don't think everyone is automatically made presenter when they join a breakout room.

Features available for the participants::

 

Join breakout rooms from web, desktop, iOS, iPads, Android mobiles and tablets. Note that organizers cannot move participants who joined via Desk phones or Teams devices join to a breakout room, they can stay in main meeting as their breakout room.

Participants join the room as presenters, so they can present, share Whiteboard, etc. freely.

This is what I have experienced: The people who join the breakout room have the same permissions as they did in the original room. For example, if they try to screen share, it will still say "only meeting organisers and presenters can share". The presenter can change the setting to make everyone have privileges as by default they are attendees so can't do anything. Maybe try "give control" or have someone give them privileges when they join?

I was just going by what it said on the Microsoft site. I have also found out that the right to manage breakout rooms is only afforded to the meeting organiser, though there are plans allow others to have that ability

It appears that you can have different meeting options for both the meeting and the breakout room. For example, I could change the present option from myself to everyone in just the breakout room. This didnt effect the main meeting.

I haven't been able to test out the above.

Hopefully this is MS moving towards having better contorls.
