Updating server

Hi,

 

I've have a HyperV machine running DHCP and DNS and this work fine and connects to the Internet via the host physical machines NIC.

 

The Physical machine is not connected to the network and therefore gets a 169 address.

 

I want to update the physical machine so need it on the Internet.

 

Can I do this without getting it added to the network?

 

I don't want to alter anything that could mess up the Virtual servers connection.
