Trailing the pupils on 0365

Hi all, hope you can help with this?

 

we are a primary school and have a 0365 tenancy, its only been used by staff so far, I have managed it for 5 years with success so far... I want to set up some students as a trial to enable them to use the office capabilities but do not want them to have access to email/outlook. I want to limit access to certain other apps in the suite also. I think I have a good understanding about how to achieve this but would love some help/input on the correct way to achieve this avoiding any pitfalls that you people who are a bit more adept at this may have come across.

 

I,m going to start with one user before rolling out to the rest, no rush as I want to get things setup correctly to avoid future issues.

Create a group called 'Pupils' or similar, then go to https://aad.portal.azure.com/ find the group, assign a license to it, but untick the Exchange sublicense.

 

pop pupils in that group, they will get the license minus the subcomponents you've unticked.
