DannyG555 Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Hi all Has anyone come up against limitations/capacity with number of simultaneous connections in DirectAccess? All of our staff laptops are configured to use DA and we are having a lot of staff say they are unable to connect. Looking at the client status, I can see that some clients can connect but I never see the number of simultaneous connections rise above around 15 whic has made me wonder about server capacity... Has anyone else had capacity issues with their setup? We have one VM for DirectAccess which has a single NIC
jhothersall Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 We have got this fixed, the issue is the TLS Setting on the server - We have had over 50+ with no issues. Our 3rd party support used IISCrypto.exe to disable older SSL Protocols - https://www.nartac.com/Products/IISCrypto/ I think this will help you (look at the comments)- https://directaccess.richardhicks.com/2017/06/26/directaccess-reporting-fails-and-schannel-event-id-36871-after-disabling-tls-1-0/ we still get Event ID 36874 but no issues with DirectAccess. Before you do anything make a save state on your Hyper-V ... 1
DannyG555 Posted January 25, 2021 Author Posted January 25, 2021 I ended up flattening the server and re-installing fresh. Unfortunately meant that all clients had to come back on site to get a group policy update, but so far so good! I'll keep this TLS issue in mind should the issue re-surface. Thanks
jhothersall Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 We had it anything above 50 connections users would get disconnected. Now I have 90 and copying a file get about 2MB max really. We do have a Terminal Server for Sims.net that helps with server load too.
