dbrown Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Most users get a desktop which is a mixture of their profile desktop and the local All Users desktop. I've got one teacher who is getting only her profile desktop and no local All Users desktop. Anyone know why this might be? She is a rare user - just a few weeks a year at report time. When she's in school connected to the NW, she gets the lot: away from the NW she can't get the profile (except for anything cached), but neither does she get the local All Users stuff. It may just be Friday afternoon, but I can't think of any reason why someone would not get the local All Users stuff. Thanks. Don
Polski Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 It's not something silly like the NTFS permissions denying her is it? Can she go into “Explorer” and see what’s in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop?
SYNACK Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 You might want to look at group policy for this users OU and check if this setting is enabled as it also affects the desktop all users icons: User Configuration> Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar: Remove common program groups from start menu
