UniFi Controller and Captive Portal

Hi All

 

We currently have an Aerohive system based on the HiveManager classic controller which is about to go end of life thus we are looking for options to replace. I have setup a UniFi controller and am currently testing it before I make the decision to buy access points and make the move. I have a couple of questions for those more familiar with the UniFi controller:

 

1. As you cannot specify VLAN 1 when creating a new NETWORK is this because the default network is set to use VLAN 1? This is my assumption thus I have simply edited the default network.

 

2. I will need to create 2 WiFi networks, 1 which uses RADIUS authentication for all school users and a separate one for guests to use in a building which is open to the public. Issue is If I enable Captive Portal on the RADIUS authenticated network to allow the ability to redirect to a URL that contains the HTTPS certificate I can then not have a separate Captive portal configuration for my guest network which wants to be configured for terms of use acceptance. It does not appear to have the feature for captive portal policies and I am not entirely sure of a workaround without 3rd party onboarding.

 

Is there any way around this, possibly on the RADIUS authenticated network the ability to redirect to a URL without enabling the Captive Portal may achieve this but is it possible as I cannot find any useful options?
