themightymrp Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Our school wants to purchase a particular Kindle eBook which is for teacher training and CPD purposes. We are happy to purchase one copy per member of staff iPad, but does anybody know of a way to distribute them en-masse? Our MDM is Lightspeed if that helps
mavhc Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 3 steps: deploy kindle app, that's easy. login to account, that's annoying and possibly manual. dl book, that's easy, it's in the library in the app. Do you want them to each have a kindle account, or share one school one?
themightymrp Posted November 13, 2020 Author Posted November 13, 2020 Is it possible to have a single school account? So there isn't an easy way to push the books out centrally like I can with apps?
Brimstone Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 You can only push out iBooks from the Apps and Books content section, having said that Kindle's are likely to have copyright restrictions as well so you'd find to need a separate Amazon account for each copy of the Kindle app. 1
mavhc Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 You can send a book to about 6 devices with one account, then you have to buy it again, so you can share accounts 1
Bev Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 If you can buy the book on ibooks it will be much easier to manage using your school.apple.com account and your MDM. You can push it out like an app, the only difference is I don't think you get the license back when the staff member leaves.
