mdrabble Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 (edited) So I have setup virtual print queues for KS3, KS4 & KS5 along with Email to Print - so students can email work directly to papercut and then release their work from their allocated printers/MFDs. I can send jobs to the relevant email address for each KS group and it hits the correct print queue and sits there waiting for release. When I go to the MFD and login to release the job - it doesn't appear. If I run a Print Release Station - it can see all the jobs and release them to the correct printers. - so why are they not showing on the MFD when I log in?? Anyone any clues?? Cheers. Have you set the device to access the queues? Under devices, select the printer and look at the print release section.
mdrabble Posted October 29, 2020 Author Posted October 29, 2020 Yep - the virtual queues are set as hold and release and then in the Job Redirection section, the relevant physical MFDs are ticked. Papercut shows Pending print jobs with the emailed jobs in the correct virtual queue - If i go to manually release then from the pending job - it shows the correct physical printer it is allowed to be release to. Interestingly - as I was typing this I thought I would add the virtual queue to my PC to test and it is doing the same thing I've even copied the settings from an existing virtual queue which prints to all printers and it is still not printing/showing. Might remove them - reboot and start again just incase I've missed something.
bald_pig Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 I'm talking about the device settings, not the virtual queue settings under "printers" 1
mdrabble Posted October 29, 2020 Author Posted October 29, 2020 Yep - missed that bit! Soon as I went on that page it was a Light bulb moment!! Cheers for that - was thinking I was going mad!
MatthewL Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 Virtual queues need to be told which queues/devices they can release to and the devices need to know which queues they can look to be released from.
