Google 'Before you continue' Popup

Morning All,

 

Was just wondering if anyone had experienced the joy of this new pop up Google keeps pushing? See below;

 

 

Our users default browser is Google Chrome and they do not log into the browser directly as there's no need for them to do so currently.

 

Has anyone else seen the same message and managed to find a network friendly solution to prevent it from popping up each time? Its driving our teachers mad! Haha!

 

I believe this is a new-ish approach by Google to alert users to cookie storage...still need to do some digging, but that's what I understood....

 

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Couple of things you could do...

 

- install the 'I don't care about cookies' extension LINK

- if you use an ad-blocker, add the following code to the custom block list

www.google.co.uk###lb
www.google.com###lb
www.google.com##:root:style(overflow-y: visible !important;)
www.google.co.uk##:root:style(overflow-y: visible !important;)

Thanks for the info, I'm liking the sound of the extension and it sounds like something that you could just set and forget which is nice.

 

Think I'll experiment with this first by pushing through GPO and see what the general concensus is. We can always uninstall if it doesn't work out.

 

If I were to go down the other route, presumably we'd just set a policy to blacklist those entries on Chrome? We currently use the AdBlockPlus extension, but not too sure how I would directly integrate the list with that...there doesn't seem to be any documentation on managing this via GPO from what I've seen...

 

I should say, we currently have the Google Chrome policies installed on our DC. So anything we can set in those policies would be good to know too [emoji4]
