Sims class role similar to supervisor for courses?

Hello all,

 

This is needed for Wonde synch with GSuite.

Is there a way to attach a teacher to a class without being added to the timetable?

The closest thing is the supervisor role under courses.

Is there a similar role for classes?

 

As currently Wonde will remove any teachers that have been manually added via the Google classroom.

 

Any other workaround than reverting the changes with GAM?

Don't know of anything that would do this in SIMS.net

 

If your timetabling is done in Nova T6 it is possible in the "Classes" screen to add a teacher to a class but put the number of lessons for that teacher as zero; I've never actually had a use for that so not sure if it carries through to SIMS at all!

 

I'd hope that Wonde would be working on making the synch more customisable....

We had an interesting case related to the supervisor role; a member of staff who used to teach Science told us that she has loads of Science groups appearing in Classroom which are not on her timetable.

 

Unlike in your case where staff want to be added to various classes, we had the opposite problem: a member of staff with loads of classes she didn't want!

 

We looked into this and discovered she was added as a course supervisor of Science, but with an end date which had elapsed. So we are wondering if that was it. However this role has since been deleted, but the classes keep coming back (if the classes are removed, they just re-appear)

 

Wonde say that the data is coming from SIMS somewhere, so there must be somewhere in SIMS where this teacher has been added to a role that is causing her to be added to loads of classes, but she doesn't want that. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

You can also check with the Data M if her groups are not being pulled from course supervisor roles

Not sure if you still need this, I have had similar issues where a Drama Teacher had all Triple Science classes coming up on her Google Classroom Dashboard (We also sync with Wonde & Realsmart). For some reason, turns out that she was made a "Head of Department" of Theatre school (TS). The same code (TS) was then redefined as Triple Science. SIMS.net kept the Head of Dept assignment regardless of the countless number of times the Timetable was transferred from T6.

SOLUTION: Delete the Head of Dept or any supervisor roles for the teacher via Tools ->Academic Management -> Course Manager -> Maintain Course (search for course and everything will show up and be clear!)
