Morning,

I am currently trying to work out the best way of setting up collaborative working and file sharing across multiple microsoft tenancies. For background we are a trust made up of 6 primaries, 1 secondary and a head office. All sites have their own tenencys. We have not centralised these so far as the negatives outweighed the benefits however collaborative working is the one area I am yet to get around.

I have considered a Team on the MAT tenancy, with guest access enabled. This works up to a point but it requires a single point of adding members to the team (someone at the head office) and keeping on top of leavers/joiners etc. What I would ideally like is to allocate an Owner at each site to be able to add / remove users from their respective schools. This isn't possible in teams as far as I am aware.

If anyone has any suggestions on large scale collaborative working it would be very much appreciated. Ideally I would not like to centralise for this one feature, but will consider it if it is the only way.

Any tips greatly appreciated!

yeah, had spotted that which (unless I am missing something) pretty much confirmed what I had found and listed above. Basically it will have to be managed by someone at the site where the Team is being hosted. I wondered if anyone in the same position as us had found a workaround, or possibly even another platform which accomplishes the same goal (although I suspect compliance and management will be the issue if we move to a different system)

The role that allows invite to be sent is 'guest inviter' Azure AD role descriptions and permissions - Azure Active Directory | Microsoft Docs

I dont see why that cant be given to a guest theirself to setup invites (haven't tested though)

So, lets say we have MainTennant, and schooltennant1-6

In MainTennant, invite a person from each schooltennant1-6 into it. Once accepted, add them to the guest inviter role

The schooltennant1-6 people then go to https://aad.portal.azure.com click change directory to MainTennant and away we go.
