Offline files

We are using Windows 10 build 18363.836 1909.

 

We have a strange issue with offline files in that the GPO option "sync all offline files at logon" and "sync all offline files at logoff" does not work. This means that any work staff do on their laptops within their home directory does not synchronize onto the network. When they log in to another computer they can't see those files.

 

I initially thought it was maybe a permissions issue but on their laptop, if I go to the file right-click and select sync selected offline files it appears on the server so they can access it.

 

Has anyone else had this problem? it's very strange but then I notice most of the GPO settings for offline files relate to old versions of Windows so I wondered if it could be this.

iirc those settings have been legacy only since vista (or 7)

 

just checked and in gpmc t shows Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, and Windows 2000 only

Bit of a necro thread raising, but has anyone managed to get offline files to play nicely with Windows 10?

 

I'm getting Network Offline issues when the device is connected to the network, saving issues, database corruption issues.

 

I know, longer term, we'll be shifting to OneDrive, but until that happens I would love to get Offline Files to work all the time for all staff!
