I’ve been trying to use conditional formatting on an Excel spreadsheet and I need help!

The spreadsheet has 5 columns. Surname, Forename, Reg, DOB, Permission and I want to highlight the rows depending on the value in the permission cell. So if the permission cell = YES I want the whole row to be highlighted green and if the permission cell is NO I want the whole row to be highlighted red. Using conditional formatting I can get the permission cells to change colour but not the whole rows.

Rather than basing your conditions on a cell value, you have to base the condition on a formula instead.

Have used this many a time before and its straightforward enough, instructions for you here
