HP LaserJet 1015 Printer Problem

We have one of these printers connected locally to a machine and when the user tries to print more than one page it prints all the pages onto the same sheet, over the top of each other if you know what i mean.

 

I have tried removing the printer and the drivers, restarting the printer and downloading the latest drivers off the internet. Ive checked the FAQs and googled it, cant seem to find anything about this issue. I have also sent print jobs to other printers and it isnt happening, it is only happening when i try and print to this local printer.

Wow... that's a new one... My advice would be to install the printer on a new machine and see if it exhibits the same behaviour for the same software... also check if it's specific to one software package or not.

 

If it's the printer, ditch it and start over..

 

If not... do a complete driver strip using the utility from HP, go through with ccleaner to strip out the crud from registry and remove the HP directory that still gets left behind and then do a manual install of the driver via the add-printer wizard and a 7zip extracted folder created from the latest drivers. DO NOT use the HP driver software to install the driver (it's ****!).

we had this on a HP multifunction laser. Never found what was the problem, we just replaced it.

Had exactly this problem with a HP LJ 1300 when I accidentally switched to using the PCL6 drivers, deleting the printer and recreating using the PCL5 version solved the problem.

This is what cured the problem for me too.

 

We have had this issue a few times and it was down to the PCL6 drivers, changing back to the PCL5 drivers will resolve your issue.
