eraser tool not working in smart notebook 16.2

Hi,

I am a newbie to smart notebook as just joined a new school. When I try and use the eraser tool, it just shows a circle but nothing is actually rubbed out?

Can anyone help?

Never come across this before on any build but you should be able to upgrade to 17.1 using the existing serial key, so worth an upgrade if you get no joy from other users on here.
