Hi,

any pointers on this would be much appreciated:

SLT want to use the weekly report to Parents in Teams. I've found this - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/schooldatasync/parent-contact-sync#enabling-parent-and-guardian-sync but I'm having trouble getting it working. I have contacted Ruler/Connect (which is what we use for SIMS/O365 integration and are usually excellent), but they are no supporting this at the moment.

Is anyone successfully using this weekly report? Any pointers?

Thanks,

JD.

It’s not that they aren’t supporting it, my understanding is the new M$ Teams API that replaced SDS doesn’t yet support parental integration.

Ruler are apparently working on Plan B...

Thanks AJ, yes, it wasn't meant as a slight on Ruler, who have been excellent for us in the past. At the moment, I'm stuck of getting the data out of SIMS in the correct format (I'm a bit of a SIMS novice), and I think I need to create a new profile with the correct details in SDS. I have had this response from MS (in case anyone else is struggling with this)....

"You can create the Parent and Guardian sync files Manuel and sync them on a separate profile. but when you go to up load you will still need to upload all 8 CSV files. However the only thing that needs to be in the 6 extra csv files is there headers, with the exception of the school CSV . That will need to have your schools in it as its the Anker for the files...and since the Parent and Guardian sync is paired with the student it should in fact work with manually created teams."

So at least I know what I'm trying to do is feasible.

Incidentally, I asked Capita if there were any predefined reports that I could just import into SIMS (as I don't like re-inventing the wheel if I can help it), and they said:

There are no pre defined reports within SIMS, you are able to go to 'SIMS ID > Report Viewer > Search SDS', these are the only pre defined reports we have currently on SDS.
