Cazale Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 one of our schools is a small infants. They don't have enough iPads for one-on-one, and the pupils are too young to manage shared iPads (besides which, I think some are too small to set up as shared). The previous tech set the iPads up so they were all just logged into a single normal (not ASM) Apple account to create a load of pooled iPads that anyone can just pick up and use. The problem is, the way they've been setup, they're asking for the username/password combination all the time. I need to wipe them all anyway, how can I improve things? Has anyone ever tried creating one single teacher ASM account, and one single pupil account and logging in one iPad with the teacher account and the rest of the iPads with the (one single) pupil account? Can you even do that? We're using Meraki for MDM.
TLARWise Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 We use the free version of Mosyle (http://www.mosyle.com). If you have an ASM admin account add the ipads to DEP then you can use Mosyle to allocate apps without needing to enter any login details on the ipads themselves.
Brimstone Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 I would assume you are using an older version of Meraki, as its not free anymore. This does not support device assignment for apps. Best advice is as above use Mosyle, use DEP and remove all the Apple ID’s ( This goes against App Store licensing rules anyway)
