Sheridan Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 My iPhone XR is regularly (i.e more than once a week) failing to connect to any services - i.e it fails to send a text, and loses internet connectivity over wireless and 4G Toggling airplane mode on and off seems to fix this, although I would have thought the phone (SMS) and wifi and 4G all used different hardware? I'll do a factory reset as thats all Apple will start with, but has anyone else seen these problems? I've cleaned the sim card but that wouldn't have any effect on the wifi anyway
seustice Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 Are you on o2 or an MVNO that uses them? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-51008775
Sheridan Posted July 29, 2020 Author Posted July 29, 2020 No, I've seen that article before but I'm on Three (albeit through ID)
Sheridan Posted July 29, 2020 Author Posted July 29, 2020 Yeah I have a very thin 'tpu' gel type of cover - its been on since day one but this problem only started a couple of months ago I never suspected the case as wireless charging works fine through it, and its pretty thin anyway
LukeRowberry Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 (edited) XR on three and I get the same issue occasionally 🤷 Edited July 29, 2020 by LukeRowberry
Sheridan Posted July 29, 2020 Author Posted July 29, 2020 That’s what I was afraid of, it’s a random error that seems to be a problem with this model of phone.
