marvin Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Hi Just wondering if i could have bit more advise on a setup at home. I recently bought a PS3 and a WII and wanting to setup a wireless router so that i can access online games. I was thinking of getting a D-LINK DI-524? Would this be a good one to use?

I would stay way clear of D-Links, had lots of trouble with them, am sure more people here will confirm that.
SimpleSi Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 You never know if one device will work with another device reliably until you try it. Find someone with a Wii/PS3 that has it working and find out what they use Get EXACTLY the same model regards Simon
richard.thomas Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 My expeirence of Linksys is limited to one router, however I dont much like it! It seems to want a restart fairly frequently and just seems to run real slow every now and again (Asin sending files through the LAN) At my parents house I've setup a netgear router and I havent ever had to touch it, apart from when I lived there and i wanted to forward some ports. Last time I was there it had been on for 6 months straight without a problem. but thats a very narrow range of products to base opinons on, but if i were to buy a new router it'd be a netgear one. (we've had PS3 and a Wii working on our Linksys- Not tried it on the netgear as neither of the consoles are mine )
Domino Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I've got one of these Amazon.co.uk: Linksys Wireless-G ADSL Home Gateway (Annex A): Electronics & Photo and we've a wii, PS3 and xbox 360 in our house, all running fine. as well as various laptops, desktops, etc
flashsnaps Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I've a bog standard NETGEAR DG834G wireless Router, and it works fine. I play Pro Evo online on a PS3 wirelessly, and haven't experienced any problems.
