Wyke is an established, highly successful Sixth Form College with an outstanding reputation in the locality. The college draws students from Kingston-upon-Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, and further afield. The largest and one of the most successful A-level providers in the area, we offer applicants the opportunity to work alongside committed colleagues who have enabled our students to achieve high levels of success. At Wyke we put the student first and all decisions centre around staff working together to meet their best interests.

We require a knowledgeable and progressive I.T. Systems Manager to lead our skilled team of I.T. and Network Technicians in providing a comprehensive I.T. support service to our students and colleagues. This is a new role and the appointee will have exposure to a wide range of I.T. issues and the opportunity to expand their experience and develop skills. This will be a busy role and require strong prioritisation and decision making skills and no two days will be the same.

The successful candidate will have experience of Microsoft technologies, including Windows 10 desktop rollout and management, Windows Server, virtualisation (e.g. VMWare), SQL, and networking technologies (e.g. Cisco) . They will be an IT leader in the college, with prominent roles in development of cybersecurity in college and EdTech. A minimum of A level or equivalent qualification (preferably a degree) and at least five years of relevant experience in supporting IT users is essential. The most important skills to ensure success in the role will include strong interpersonal skills, positive solution focus, and an organised, calm manner.

We offer a welcoming college with supportive management and a commitment to staff development as well as a modern environment and high standards of student behaviour. Members of staff are initially paid for 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 29 days after 5 years’ service and have access to a defined benefit pension scheme (LGPS).

The College takes safeguarding extremely seriously and a full range of pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this post.
