Hi. We're being given laptops our LA for pupils at home? I have few questions if anyone can help

 

1) is there a way to put laptops on lackdown on internet activity if theyre to be used at home

2) can the laptops being traced if theyre lost, stolen or sold?

3) can their internet activity be monitored

The LA (and DfE) laptops are provided with internet filtering enabled through to March 2021 by default. The Windows PC's seem to work straight away, Chromebook has had a few people say it can be a pain to get working.

Serial numbers of devices should be recorded the same as loan equipment, and it should be in the agreement policy between the LA and the Pupils parents.

As they are LA devices, unless they transfer ownership across to yourselves and you install your own filtering provision, you likely no way to monitor their internet access.
