Veyon not working - invalid message size

Hi all

 

Some years ago - before I stopped working - I tried to get Veyon working at my school

 

and failed

 

Basically I got it installed and everything - after removing ITalc - but it wouldn't work properly

 

At the moment my wife is having to 'shield' so we have to sit on separate sofas in the lounge (we have 2 sofas - it's like sheds - everyone needs 2!)

 

She often makes comments based on what she can see on her laptop - which is annoying as I can;t see her screen

 

SO I though I would set up Veyon so that

a) I can see her screen when she is talking about it

b) when she gets a problem I can remote control her laptop and see what she happening

c) I can get rid of an annoyance at having to leave my old school without getting the thing working

 

 

CLEARLY I will not use it to reboot her computer or do the 'ghost mouse' thing just to annoy her

Anyway

 

 

I have it all set up between my desktop and my laptop as a test but it won't work.

The Master says it is trying to connect (connecting)

The slave says that it has received a connection

 

But the screen on the Master remains blank

 

I have looked at the logs on the Master - and have set them to maximum logging (except debug) and it says

[ERR] VariantArrayMessage: invalid message size 603998464

 

from GitHub it looks like VariantArrayMessgae is the module reporting the error -

 

 

anyone any clue as to what I can do to get this working??

OK - never mind - got it working now

 

 

turned out I had another remote control thingy running at the same time - a museum I was helping at asked me to try it out for them

 

tried it and forogt I still had it installed

 

deinstalled it and everything worked OK
