mrssevage Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Hi, User in my school forgot the password to a excel document. Is there way to open this document without the password? I tried steps i found on internet wit zip file but that didn't work. I know there are softwares out there that can do it but not sure how safe they are. Is there a chance to open this of should i give up? Thank you
Steve21 Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Is it an open password? or modify password? The XML/Zip way you mentioned was only pre-2013 I think Steve 1
Arthur Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 (edited) Is there a chance to open this of should i give up? Anything is possible given enough time. I used HashCat (and a fast GPU) to bruteforce the password the last time I had a password protected Excel spreadsheet. www.edugeek.net/forums/security/190491-password-protected-word-document.html#post1628450 Edited May 28, 2020 by Arthur 1
