SCCM C Drive Full

Hello Forum,

 

I've been doing a push out of 1909 to our systems this past couple of weeks using a required deployment. Works a treat, however... The C drive on the server is filling up a folder, C:\Windows_old\SMPSTOREC_CAB9E35E$ for every machine that updates. I'm presuming this is controlled by a setting somewhere where I can either re-direct it and have it purged withing a short period of time? Struggling to find it.

That's normally if you got state migration turned on in your tasks, rather than a proper clean upgrade

 

But the setting should be within Site Database > Site Management > Site > Site Settings > Site Systems > Server

 

Edit - Actually depending which way you did it, might be Site Config -> Server Roles -> Server etc etc

 

Right click on State Migration Point and there's delete after X days etc normally set

If you don't want SCCM to use a drive you can create a blank file in the drive root called NO_SMS_ON_DRIVE.SMS to stop this. I'm not sure if it applies after SCCM has started using a drive though but may be useful for future reference.

Per chance is it that attached image I need to switch off?

That's what is making it do it yes, but you can change where it stores it using the settings I mentioned previously

 

Depends if you actually want to use state migration or just wanted a fresh install

Just want the machine to do a fresh install for now. Let's see if that does the trick then :-)
