Server is turned off but fans keep turning on, its driving me a little crazy

Recently got a second hand Dell PowerEdge T430 to play around with at home, so its not going to be turned on all the time.

Problem is, when its tuned off the fan spins up every few minutes for 5 seconds and its starting to drive me crazy.

I don't want to remove the power cable from the back as I would like to keep the internal batteries charged. Didn't have this issue on my older dell r710 test server.

Any idea how I stop the fans from spinning up?

Do you know if it is the PSU fan or not?

Does it have redundant PSUs with only one power cable connected?

If it isn't, look at the power settings/profiles on both the BIOS and iDRAC and see if adjusting both to see if it helps. Also check to see if the iDRAC reports any errors as some servers will ramp up the fans if it finds 'unsupported' hardware installed.

Is it all the fans or only one? If only one probably idrac if you have it on that server

Its not doing the takeoff for the moon noise they can do, so think its just one fan. Yes idrac is on.
