[misc] I have been having trouble posting images since the most recent Chrome upgrade

After upgrading to Google Chrome 83.0.4103.61 (64 Bit) I can't post images as I would prefer to. If I preview this post with an image attached I see (below)

 

I would normally see a small version of my image in the body of the message, not as an attached thumbnail. Posting works as expected in other browsers. I have restarted the browser and restarted the computer. I have deleted the cache. Not sure what to try next. Thoughts?

Aha, I have a theory that doesnt involve chrome. Are the images jpg or png generally?

I hadn't tried PNG. JPGs are an issue, trying PNG now.

 

OK. PNGs have the same problem, it seems.

I can post images again, although I do have to upload the image twice (first time it doesn't appear)

 

I didn't do anything to make it work again.
