Koldov Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 My Bursar has just contacted me saying that they are trying to load the budget into FMS from HCSS using the download Access Education Links which starts some sort of wizard to import the file. However at some stage it is asking for an administrator password (which for obvious reasons I can't give out) but I'm not really sure why... I don't know what the exact process is so I don't know at what point the file export from HCSS/Access Education needs admin privileges to download a file, where it goes or what it does to the file after that to process it and import it into FMS... Does anybody know or have a way around this that I can implement remotely?
SBM_Kat Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 I think once the wizard has installed onto the device it shouldn't need the admin password in future. From memory as I don't use this in my new school! 1
Koldov Posted May 13, 2020 Author Posted May 13, 2020 Well, it seems that it somehow needs local admin to do whatever it needed to do, so I had to remote on and give the Bursar that. Then when running the next stage it turns out that it should be completed on the server as it seems to point to a loopback address (looking for the FMS database maybe)?! So, I have to remote on to their PC and (after removing the program block for the finance PC to run Remote Desktop itself), remote through that into the server....
