Idris Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Hi I there I work for a school and I am trying to setup RDWEB access, I have done everything as possibly can think of, buy I can't connect to the page outside the organisation. I would really appreciate any assistance.
ThatBoringBloke Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 The link below was a great help when I had to set it up:- https://nedimmehic.org/2017/02/08/how-to-install-remote-desktop-services-2016-quick-start-deployment/
pete Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Can you get to the IIS default page? What do the webserver logs say? Is it seeing any traffic from the outside?
Idris Posted May 7, 2020 Author Posted May 7, 2020 You mentioned in the article adding an if you are using a firewall, which IP do i add, my firewall or my public IP
highsky Posted May 7, 2020 Posted May 7, 2020 Hello, If properly set you need the external static IP pointing to you internal Rds server port 443 open on the firewall and probably the Rds UDP port too. Also the external FQDN needs to be entered on the Rdsweb server role not the internal one. Will be helpful if you post what instructions you followed. So are you saying that you can't open the event viewer on the Rds server or the IIS manager from it.
Idris Posted May 7, 2020 Author Posted May 7, 2020 I have done the port direction, as I can Remote to the machine externally, but I can't ping it. In the event log I get error 1004
Idris Posted May 12, 2020 Author Posted May 12, 2020 i have done the above as you mentioned. When i type in the IP address it resolves to the host name but the page doesn't load. If you don't mind may i call you?
