MS Teams license

Hi,

 

We have office 365 a1 for students and a1 for faculty here. Is this enough of a license for us to use teams across the whole school for all our 1500 users or do I need a different license. I've looked at the licensing models but its confusing, are there limitations with A1?

Yes your A1 licence should give you access to Teams. You need to enable it in the 'Apps' section when setting a licence if its not already enabled.

Are there any restrictions do you know? I saw a 250/300 limit somewhere but didn't fully understand it.

Not that I know of. We're using the A1 Plus licences you can get if you have a volume licence with Microsoft but that just add the ability to download Office as far as I know.

Ah, that's referring to the amount of people in a single team - You'd be unlikely to have that many people in a single team so I wouldn't worry about it.

 

You won't be able to do "Live events" without an A3 license or use it as a phone system without an A5 license but you've got enough to get started.
