superatticman Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 How is everyone finding these for general reliability? We're having a few BSOD issues especially on login. All tablets up to date firmware wise etc. Anyone else having reliability issues?
AB_IT Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Not sure if it's helpful as I've never used the Surface Pro 7 although I did have a Surface Pro 2 back in the day, had some pretty big issues with it especially the Wifi card! It looked pretty but in my opinion wasn't practical since then I have stayed away. I've heard plenty of stories like this, although it pains me to say it you're better off on spending the money on another premium brand such as the XPS Range or even a MacBook and run Windows on it. Comes to something whe Microsoft themselves can't build a reliable tablet for their own software. As a side not those that never 'reimaged' their surfaces worked fine but as soon as you loaded a blank OS on it (I did this due to bloatware) it caused no end of issues even when ensuring that the drivers where fully installed afterwards.
mrwoberts Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 Purchased one for the head just a couple of months back. I personally wasn't overly impressed with it, especially for the £ 900+ price tag. It kind of needs the pen to add the wow factor, but that just overstretched our budget. Interestingly we bought 13inch Dell Latitudes for the other SLTs and they absolutely love them. They were roughly £ 600 each. Given the choice, I would buy the Latitudes any day. My opinion is if you want a tablet, go for the iPad, if you want a decent 12-13 inch Laptop, go for the Dell Latitudes.
