Office 365 Shared Calendar Permissions

Hi all,

 

Have setup a shared mailbox with O365 and added the appropriate users in order to add appointments to a shared calendar.

 

However, some of the users need full access to add and delete appointments and others only require view access.

 

It looks like on a shared mailbox, administering different permissions to a user is not available.

 

I can see you can customise permissions which says "Read and Manage" or "Send as" but that is it.

 

Is there a way to add permissions to a user within the shared mailbox ? I gather it has to be done via powershell but doing it this way, how does it work, does it allow the O365 admin to see the permissions in O365 for each user or do the permissions have to be applied to each user via powershell ?

 

Alternatively, if there is a better way anyone can think of I appreciate it.

Been through this recently. Had to setup a standard user to achieve the exact needs. It's at the sacrafice of a license but I guess that's no biggy in education.

 

Works really well for us now I just assign the admin thebrelacdnt permissions and she does the rest.

 

I have learned that there are some limiting factors to shared mailboxes. Serve a purpose of course, but in this example my recommendation is to create a normal shared calendar user
