Has anyone used PC Specialist?

I'm looking for some AIO computers and my normal suppliers (XMA/Stone) have let me down so stumbled upon pcspecialist.co.uk and am impressed with their pricing. Has anyone used them for school hardware before and would you recommend?

I've never used them, though they are quite well known in the PC enthusiast community.

 

Take a look at VeryPC, they do some AIOs, as well as other designs and are geared towards education.

I have a quote from a Very PC partner and seems nice although the sales guy repeatedly called me "mate" so am finding it hard to love the quote.

Try contacting VeryPC directly to get your own account manager with them. They're based in Sheffield, so they're going to be friendly northerners.

Nice to see them being fair to their partners too. I've only dealt direct and despite only being small fry, I always had excellent service and pricing from them.

Haven't bought any myself, but a couple of former clients used to have them. They are Clevos, and aren't bad. Would I pay a premium over other clevo rebrands? Not really. Yes, you have a load of customisation options, but unless you specifically need X graphics card with Y processor and Z model SSD, then there's usually an off the shelf version thats better and often cheaper. Personally, I would use VeryPC too - never had an issue with them, friendly, not pushy, good kit, well packaged and great support.

 

On the other hand, they do have a bit of a reputation in the gaming world, so clearly know their stuff, and also have quite a wide range, so it's not just 2 blokes in a shed*.

 

 

 

*with an inventory that big, they need to have at least a double garage!

Yep, used them in the past for my own and school stuff. Seem a decent outfit. Less of a USP now but it was awesome back in the day when everyone was selling laptops with super-slow 1TB spinning rust to be able to spec very small SSDs and no windows OS.

 

Have been disappointed with the quality of the kit, of four ultranote IVs (a clevo chassis) two have had power socket issues, one had a wifi card issue on the motherboard side, one had a display issue and one key has come off.
