Simple 1.5 doesn't look right

I've just uploaded and installed a new test site for a school at

Whitefield Primary School

 

If I select the Simple 1.5 template - it doesn't look right.

 

The "Front page" content isn't between the 2 anouncement blocks.

 

Get the same on local server and looks the same in IE.

 

Any ideas?

Yes - I can see that there might be ways to change the appearance on the "gloss paint" type level

 

but what I'm saying is that my site and the demo don't look anything like each other - no changing image - announcement modules look "thin" - they don't occupy half the page width.

 

I just switched to eg-simple in my 1.0 local test install and it doesn't look anything like the demo either

PS Had a eureka moment last night when I finally worked out why the Latest News module only displays news and not any other type of content

The announcement modules 'have' to have a module suffix appllied to make them fill the width of teh module. It is how that theme has been designed.

Can we stick the mods in the package(s) then so that 2+2=4 :)

 

 

BTW - I mistyped -hilite1 as -hlite1 and it also made Anouncement 1 widen to half but without any box around it - feature or bug?

the trouble with ore doing templates for simple means two downloads and dosent take long to setup manual will think about it.

Sysman has explained to me why the difference between the demo and the download package.

 

Simple template is sufficiently different from eg_xxxx ones that the template switcher can't be used to switch between them without causing a problem.

 

Now I know why, I'm OK

thats cool If you want to use the template switcher you can remove the simple template and still use all the others or unpublish the template switcher and then just use the simple template. sorry for the confusion.
