Dunno if it will help - but I was looking for jobs in the Liverpool/preston/Widnes area a few years ago.

 

I found that I could get temporary jobs through the teaching supply agencies even though they didn't really advertise them - once I registered with them they asked around in the school they had contact with

Got 3 short term jobs that way - and was asked to apply for a permanent post in 2 of them - although one was too far from home - I got the 3rd and only left when I retired!

 

Might help is you don;t see something soon - in the meantime I will keep my eyes open and PM you if I see anything

I'll be considering whether or not to move back to Merseyside/surrounding areas in a couple of years and I keep my eye out, just to see the lay of the land. One thing I've noticed is that there are fewer jobs that pop up. I presume that it's because it's a less populated area, especially compared to Birmingham where I am now. Less population = less schools = less job opportunities.

 

It may be worth looking at the employment section of Edugeek. @elsiegee40 used to post job adverts frequently in there, however she's taken a break from it. Check out her stickied post regarding where she'd see the adverts: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/educational-jobs/212177-taking-break-nightly-job-postings-edugeek.html. They'd be the sites I'd be scouring through if I decide to move back.

That seem right - I very seldom see any school IT jobs advertised in Liverpool

 

I wonder if there are some private support companies that support the schools??

 

anyone know - 'cos that might be a good place to start
