hotwired007 Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Hi All is there anything new (free) like everest or aida32 that works on newer hardware? i'm struggling to find a few drivers for a couple of machine but it would help if i knew exactly what it was i needed! thanks
gshaw Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Do you mean for finding what the hardware is when you're missing the drivers? If so just get Unknown Devices Identifier... |MG| Unknown Devices 1.4.20 One of many very handy tools I keep at my disposal
hotwired007 Posted May 22, 2008 Author Posted May 22, 2008 Well yes... BUT everest tells you everything about your computer... processor, motherboard etc... i have an old version of the home version and its brilliant on all my older pc's... i also have a version of thier newest as a trial version but it only allows me to view some of the information... I'm missing the ability to see what the chipset is...
gshaw Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Ye I know, was just checking that you were after the whole system info thing and not just detecting drivers. Used to use SiSoft Sandra years ago not sure how good it is now, could be worth a look?
hotwired007 Posted May 23, 2008 Author Posted May 23, 2008 Well i've managed to download the everest ultimate version in zip format and it works very nicely although it doesn't tell you some data... it knows it but hides it due to it being a trial version i burnt the zipped folder to a cd and it works very nicely The stress test is brilliant... managed to help me test my pc's heat very well - been running a AMD AM2 Athlon 5000 X2 at 100% for 30mins and its not peaked above 55 degrees yet I might even be tempted to buy myself the full version
