Network Services Systems Specialist – North Leicestershire – Up to £33,500 – Perm

Our client, a group of prestigious independent schools, are currently looking for an experienced Systems Specialist to join their existing Network Services team. Reporting to the Network Manager, you will be responsible for implementation of the strategic development of ICT resources, day to day management of the infrastructure, coaching of junior colleagues as well as act as an escalation point providing up to 3rd line ICT Support.

 

The ideal candidate will work closely with staff and students to understand and resolve faults, analyse new hardware and software for installation, train other members of the team when required, advise on recommended changes or improvements, as well as taking ownership of IT Project where required.

 

Future opportunity may arise to take on the line management of staff within the Network Service team as well as co—ordination of key suppliers and contractors.

 

Main Duties :

 

IT Services management, including 2nd and 3rd line IT Support, ensuring monitoring of all key infrastructure and IT services and ensuring backups of IT systems and services.

Providing IT Development, such as coaching and mentoring junior team members as well as implementing the vision and strategy for IT solutions through the group.

Project planning and management, from planning and implementation of complex installations, migrations and upgrades, to delivering projects on time and to agreed budgets and quality standards.

Implementing and monitoring agreed IT policies, ensuring effective security controls, carrying out investigations to policy breaches.

 

 

Required :

 

Minimum of one professional qualification (such as MCSE)

Microsoft Server technologies, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP etc.

Single sign on solutions (RADIUS, LDAP, ADFS)

Windows 10, including rollouts, images and client applications

Remote desktop solutions (Citrix, Terminal Services)

Office 365 technologies including Outlook

Virtualisation technologies, preferable VMWare

Security, audit, backup and recovery of networks systems, storage and data management

Some experience with SQL Server database support

Desirable :

 

Use of Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint 365

SQL administration and reporting tools (eg: SSRS)

Data network and VLAN configuration, firewall, web filter management

IP Telephony, IP CCTV management

Management of School MIS platforms
