Every week after the Windows update I have noticed that 1 or 2 monitors will show blank screen. The monitor will turn on, cables are fine, drained the power and tried again but no luck. Monitors are pretty old but why it always happens next day of the update? 8 monitors are down now.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Thanks!!

I would check the graphic drivers on the machine. I had this happen when Windows 10 was first released. Using updated drivers (when they had been released) resolved the issue.

Do these machines have both onboard and offboard graphics? I've seen some real goody things happen when the onboard is left enabled in the BIOS.

Been seeing this with 2011 vintage RMOnes. Generally if we remote on it jumps into life. No drivers/firmware available on the intel site as they got purged back in November.

We do seem to get wildly differing results on what superficially appear to be identical machines - some just work, some do the black screen thing and others just end up in an endless install/rollback loop.
