saggu Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Every week after the Windows update I have noticed that 1 or 2 monitors will show blank screen. The monitor will turn on, cables are fine, drained the power and tried again but no luck. Monitors are pretty old but why it always happens next day of the update? 8 monitors are down now. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks!!
FN-GM Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I would check the graphic drivers on the machine. I had this happen when Windows 10 was first released. Using updated drivers (when they had been released) resolved the issue. 1
Passat1983ICTech Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 see if you can boot in to safe mode remove the drive and go from there see if there is a update for the graphics driver 1
Duke5A Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Do these machines have both onboard and offboard graphics? I've seen some real goody things happen when the onboard is left enabled in the BIOS.
psydii Posted January 24, 2020 Posted January 24, 2020 Been seeing this with 2011 vintage RMOnes. Generally if we remote on it jumps into life. No drivers/firmware available on the intel site as they got purged back in November. We do seem to get wildly differing results on what superficially appear to be identical machines - some just work, some do the black screen thing and others just end up in an endless install/rollback loop.
