Cloning Seating Plans

As a new Exams officer, i'm planning on setting up our system so students (for the core subjects anyway) are always i the same room/seat for all the different components. Is there a way of copying/cloning the existing seating plans from 1 component to the other or do I have to set each one up individually?

Afraid there is no way of doing this within Exams. Its one of the ways Exams shows just how old and in need of an update it is.

gcoomber - Our mutual friend has passed around our office the capita change request page which we've voted on. I'd suggest anyone else looking up this thread who would also benefit from this, vote for it (albeit it seems a while since Capita has marked anything there as being actioned)

I don't think Capita will make any fundamental changes to Exams whilst they are working on their next gen exams module.

No - they have done only minor bug fixes for several years now, and this mostly related to changes in JCQ grade sets etc. Fundamentally, it has not changed for at least 12 years.

Of course, they have been working on their next gen exams module for several years now as well, so don't hold your breath for that either.
