Network Manager – (Godalming, Surrey) * URGENT *

up to £33,000 (full time / permanent position)

 

Our client, a leading managed IT service provider in the education sector have an urgent requirement for an experienced Network Manager to provide the core management function of the managed service within one of the client schools in Godalming, Surrey.

 

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience managing Enterprise level network infrastructure or a service desk within the education sector coupled with experience with Virtualisation (VMWARE or Hyper-V preferred) and Cloud Services.

 

 

As the Network Manager, your main duties will include:

  • Ensure a consistent ICT support service is delivered to the school.
  • Establish and maintain high quality learning facilities and assist in planning their future development.
  • Provide overall responsibility for advanced troubleshooting, ensuring a consistent service level, identifying potential network issues and escalating unresolved problems.
  • Prioritise staff workloads, mentor, manage, advise and train junior staff on working practices & procedures.
  • Advice senior staff on areas of potential ICT growth/problems.
  • Provide detailed specialist advice and guidance as required to School on ICT requirements.
  • Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) technical information at an appropriate level, and in a suitable style, having assessed the audience.
  • Monitor stock levels within an agreed budget, cataloguing resources and undertaking audits as required. Advice school on future purchasing requirements.
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
  • Be aware of the school’s responsibilities under the Data Protection Act 1984 for the security, accuracy and relevance of personal data held on such systems and ensuring all administrative and financial processes comply with this.

  • Analyse support logs to produce detailed management reports and help plan future support services.
  • Provide second level of in-school support for more complex requests.
  • Advise leadership team on areas of concern
  • To lead engineering projects within the school holidays.

The ideal candidate will also have:

· Professional qualifications (Degree / Masters in Computing) or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)) or equivalent, demonstrable experience.

· Other specialist IT specific qualifications i.e.: Aruba, Cisco, HP or other Enterprise level software/hardware.
