[sims] SQL 2014 updating - Service Packs and CU - SIMS database

Reading a recent post on here about Capita's support roadmap for SQL, I checked our (SQL 2014) and it needs a fair bit of updating.

 

The post seemed to suggest it was fine to hit it with the latest Service Pack and then the latest CU.

 

Are there any prerequisites (apart from a backup) for doing this with a live database such as SIMS?

Reboot before the update, then reboot after. You can run them from a script or cmd prompt.
